Prologue at Krabbe
The 2027 Hi-Tec Magoebas Ultra will once again feature a prologue on registration day. The aim of the prologue is not only to add an additional racing element to race week, but also to seed runners in batches to simplify race day logistics and avoid congestion on the trail.
Prologue times will only be used for seeding purposes in the MG30 and MFM45 events. MU60 and MR10 runners are still welcome to run the prologue to be part of the “gees”.
NOTE: Runners that do not run the prologue will automatically be placed in the slowest batch.
The prologue can be run anytime between 10:00 – 16:00.
Batch seeding
Runners will be seeded from fastest to slowest, according to their prologue times, into batches in the following way:
| Race | A-Batch | B-Batch | C-Batch |
|---|---|---|---|
| M100 | Single batch | ||
| MU60 | Single batch | ||
| MFM45 | 20 Fastest Men, 20 Fastest Women | Rest of field | N/A |
| MG30 | 80 Fastest Runners | Next 80 Runners | Rest of field |
| MR10 | Single batch |
Please take note of the following
- The prologue will have rolling starts, meaning you can start your prologue at any time after you have registered.
- You’ll use the same race number for the prologue as you will on race day.
- Seeding will only be finalised once registration closes and the prologue is concluded.
- Batches will be shared via the Magoebas Whatsapp Community once registration has been concluded.
