Sunday 21 March 2027 · Krabbefontein

The original Magoebas Ultra.

The race that embodies the spirit of Magoebas

This demanding ultra-distance journey links some of Magoebaskloof's most beautiful and remote trails. Long climbs, technical sections and ever-changing landscapes make for a challenging yet deeply rewarding experience.

It is the perfect race for runners looking to test themselves beyond the marathon distance — crossing streams, climbing exposed ridgelines and descending into hidden valleys in some of South Africa's most pristine wilderness.

The route

The MU60 is divided into five distinct stages. Finish within the 13-hour cut-off.

01 · Valley Climb

The first 10 km hit your lungs hard as you climb out of the Magoebas Valley on the Limpopo-Flo switchbacks — the first 5 km alone climb 500 m.

02 · Relentless Ridges

Between Woodbush and Broederstroom aid stations the climbs aren't massive, but you climb continuously until you reach the jeep track to Broederstroom.

03 · Schnellskop Climb

From Broederstroom you head to the highest point of the route, Schnellskop. It is the most exposed section and the first big test of your character and will to finish.

04 · Magic Miles Descent

A spectacular contouring singletrack down the mountain, with big views over the valleys and epic forest sections, ending at Debengeni Falls.

05 · Wall of Magoebas

One of the biggest tests in any trail race in SA — your last hurdle before the big descent to the finish line.
